Dead Disk - Conclusion Confirmation Please

Hey guys,

I'll cut this as short as I can.

I went up on vacation and took my machine, once I arrived my drive was horribly slow and clicked once or twice nastily. When I returned, I did a low level format, reinstalled Windows and it all seemed fine, until today, now i'm getting a clickign sound occasionally (not often) and these errors in eventlog;

The device, \Device\Ide\IdePort0, did not respond within the timeout period.

An error was detected on device during a paging operation.

The system failed to flush data to the transaction log. Corruption may occur.

They aren't constant, but a few times a day I get them all.

Is it a dead disk? Seagate tools say it passes, but, i get errors and slowdowns... got the RMA ready in case.

I think your problems may run deeper. What's with the errors on the cdrom from Saturday? Did you check all your connections inside the box after moving it twice?

hehe, i am getting the exact same thing.. ran seagate tools however, and it states that everything is okay!!!!!!!!!!!

the problem i seem to be having is that the hard drive takes a while to respond.

I didn't move my pc or anything though.. weird.. seagate tools such eh!

i also have an RMA number, but seagate has some bull shit packaging requirements, fuck them.. i'll just go with another company next time.. It would probably cost me as much on packaging as it would fucking buying a new hard drive .
