I'm not sure if anyone can help but here you go...

I've just put together a system for my parents, xp3000+, 512 DDR400, ASUS MB and a Sapphire 9550 (128mB)... Everything seems to be running OK but when I go into the ATI software it says that I am running No AGP... and when I try to pull the slider over to AGP x8 it doesn't do anything... Anybody got a clue?

I am running windows 98SE till the ordered copy of XP arrives... Is this a factor?

Thanks to anyone who can explain this to me and I'll buy you a pint!
 
If the bios is configured to run at 8x, then it's possible the gart driver is having some issues with windows 98.

I wouldn't worry about it until you get xp installed.
