My WD800JB is on the fritz, and I have the RMA already setup for it, but I need to get all of my data on to another drive, which I am going to get right after I click Submit under this post.

What I need to know, is can I transfer EVERYTHING over and have a ready to go system, or will I have to start from scratch?

What about ghosting? How does that work, and if it works the way I want it to, can it be done for free?

Thanks a bunch guys!

Depends whether your target drive is => source drive and whether it will sit on the same controller. The latter part is to keep the OS from freaking out at boot, if there is one on the unit, and the former is to see if you can do a full physical copy (every bit on A is copied to B in the same location), or a logical copy of the partition(s). Ghost is normally what you'd use for the process of cloning, but there are freeware utilities available like g4u, essentially dd on a disk, which is also on the ultimate boot cd.
