Spent this week playing with xen and esxi I like xen better for sure.
Installed it on a core i5 8 gigs ram and a 1tb drive exported my vm's from hyper v and imported them perfectly into the test rig.
So last night I backed up hyper v and the vm's again, just in case the new server doesn't work with xen, tonight I plan on installing xen and all the updates and patches, then adding iscsi for the vm's to live on and get it all back up.
I still need to learn how to make the local storage accessible for iso's for installing new vm's etc etc..
New server is as us 1u quad co Xeon 32 gigs ram 2 x 500 gig drives for os and iOS storage. Pci-e ho dual port gigabit Ethernet for iscsi traffic and vm traffic only. On board intel nics will be for management and other stuff..
