well im in the middle of designing a fileserver that i will be building into my desk, and since the hd rack will be using an independent power supply i needed to know if there was a service out there or someone who would be willing to take commission on a job to daisy chain sata power connectors, two rows, 6 connectors each, and perhaps have a 2 or 3 4pin molex connectors available for the fans, oh and suggestions on an appropriate power supply would be good too, looking for something that can handle 12 or more hard drives, and perhaps 4 to 6 120mm fans, that would be it's only power load.

no, not adapters  , attach actual sata connectors (i think the guy i saw do it using a wire crimping tool or something), i want it to look clean, and get rid of all the extras i wouldn't be using, then use the shrink mesh on it. Instead of giving a dumb remark like that, how about a little help, im still looking for a decent PSU to handle that load, something reliable and not too powerful or expensive. thanks for nothing paradox

PC Power and Cooling will make you a custom PSU to your specs- exactly what you are looking for..

Here is what they built for me:

Getting ready to order a new 1kw from them for my next machine- they make a really great product. Building a Dual Xeon machine- upwards of 18 drives total.. (actually have 12 750GB's already :D )

thank you so much, this is exactly what i was looking for, now just to save that thought and wait until i have the money and the desk for it (still in design phase). Hey would you happen to know a good way to mount 12 or more hard drives without using a case? I was planning on turning a desk cabinet into a Server, with the computer mounted on a sliding tray for easy acess and the hard drives all stacked underneath, but i hadn't gotten to how to mount them quite yet.

PS. . .9 terabytes?? god dam, you are my idol :D . My small 1.4 TB machine quakes in fear. My collection grows however, thus the need for a better data storage solution, but i want to try something less conventional, and i already wanted to plan/build my own desk.
