Hi,

My name is Chris and I own a small custom computer company called Sparticus Goods.

We do all kinds of projects and systems. I would like some input (Ideas, Constructive Criticism, Likes, Dis likes, Etc) On one of our new models. It is up on ebay right now, just follow the link for pics and full details.

Also if this is not the right area to post this please correct me.

Thanks,
Chris

Do we need one of your computers to see the link? :p

...but seriously. I don't see a link.

Well, I think you should show one pic of exactly how it will look when received, in addition to the empty case and all of the components. Other than that, it really looks fine to me. If I had the spare change, I'd definitley be interested, that's one nice rig. Oh, and there's a "Full Computer Systems OEM" forum now, where this would probably be more appropriate. Either there or general hardware. I don't see any modding (except to the peltier I think), so they would probably be better choices.

Just a note, the reserve is set at 4600. Thats about the cost of parts.

What do you think of the price for the spec ratio. Like to get 4950 or more.

prize tag is sh1t high! u should find somewhere else to buy the hardware (cpu, vpu etc) so you dont have to rip of any buyers (at least the prize on other comps i see when i click "large picture")

Any recommendations on good and cheap hardware vendors. Most of the core parts I get from newegg, TEC from frozenc cpu, other liquid parts from sidewindercomputers and cooltechnica. Case from Mountain Mods. Mod stuff from xoxide and jab-tech.

swedish site for http://www.komplett.com/ got some really nice prizes for upgrade packs (cpu, mem and mobo) and 'pc in parts', so i guess it should be about the same :)

other then that i only know swedish sites

Well, just to let you know, you have 2 processors listed. The X2 4200, and then in the specs breakdown, you have the X2 4400 listed. Then you list the Asus A8N SLI Premium but in the pictures later you show a DFI board. Then you say Dual 7800GTX SLi but show an Ati Card later with a Cool Matic heatsink as well as a different case. I wouldn't show extra pictures which could confuse people as to what they are getting. Especially when you are selling it for that much.

Oh, and when you list the Raptors, you're somewhat unclear as to how many there are. You list the 74GB Raptor but then say that you have 148GB of space. I would change that to say that you get (2) 74GB WD Raptors for a total of 148GB of space in a Raid 0 configuration.

Otherwise, the system is very nice. Great gaming/workhorse computer with that X2 in there.
I'm wondering about the choice of sound card. Why not the Gamer version? Or the Fatality? Why the Music one?

Thanks for the advice on clarity.

The pics are to show past work, because this system, (untill sold), is not built yet. It is just th elatest revision of past models.

Once built, we would list just the system pics.

Price was the factor in the sound card. Almost exact same features for alot less than the fatal1ty card. If you plan to mainly game than the extra inpust dont help much.

Hey there. Nice to see an entrepreneur on this site wanting to get some feedback. Its not something that comes along too often. Anyways, I'd like to point out a few things to help your auctions a little bit.
1. Ease up on the pictures on your auction. The sheer amount of pictures in that auction make it way too busy and cause for a bit of loading time. Most people browsing or shopping on the web are very impatient and will not wait 20-30 seconds for a web page to load. They will just skip the slow loading page and move onto something else.
2. If someone is interested in this system, chances are they already know what all the parts are so they really do not need the lengthy descriptions. A more streamlined listing would be more attractive to a prospective bidder. Perhaps a short blurb about the components with a link to the product on the manufacturer's web site.
3. Customers like professionalism. They will not buy a system from a company if the company looks like a shade-tree operation. In saying that, you may want to delete the last two pictures with the MountainMods case. I'd hate to say this, but it doesn't look professionally built. It kinda looks like it was all just tossed together quickly a few hours before a big lan party. Those are the kind of pictures you want to leave out as customers will think that the system that they are bidding on may end out looking like that. For sales and marketting purposes, take clear pictures of completed systems that you have built including some detailed interior pictures. When taking pictures that you want to place in one of your auctions, place the system up on a work surface or table. These kind of pictures once again display pride and professionalism in the system build. Pictures of a system build or components on a floor or carpet may give the customer the idea that they computer they are bidding on may be built in someone's livingroom instead of a workshop or office. Remember, you want the prospective bidder to feel asured that they are bidding on a clean, professionally built system.

Wow, I never meant for this post to be this long, but I hope this gives you some ideas for future sales. I also wish you great sucess in your business. If you would like any more ideas, please PM or e-mail me. :)

I have to agree with the image quality. Dark shots of a system show off the lighting, but also don't show anything aside from that. It would be better if there was a matching picture right with it in the light. Interior and Exterior shots are a plus. But don't overwhelm the customer with too many pictures, they are likely to get confused and well... overwhelmed...
