Custom laptop - Small briefcase computer

I know some people have made briefcase computer mods before. I was wondering if some people still had links to images of those.

I am interested in the idea of building a custom mobile computer that would fit in a small aluminium briefcase. I am thinking of using a small keyboard (I have seen some $10 for sale), along with a small color LCD and a small motherboard. Would also need a 12 volt ATX power supply.

This seems like a nice option because with a small ATX motherboard, you can fit in actual PCI or AGP cards, you can also put a large battery, allowing more battery life than your typical laptop. There is also the fact that such a system would be easier to upgrade than a laptop.

Does anyone have links to online shops selling:
- 6/12/24V DC ATX power supplies
- Cheap, small color LCDs
- Small motherboards
- Medium sized aluminium briefcases
 
mp3car.com has some really good stuff. Also if you look in the carputer threads in here you will find good suggestions for power supplys, motherboards, and touchscreen lcd's

How small a mobo are you looking for? I bouth my Mini-ITX mobo (17cm square) from Monarch computers for my SewingBoxx computer. I bought the DC->DC power supply from logicsupply.com. Lots of other mini PC stuff there as well that you will need. If you plan on using laptopl components you can get IDE->Laptop HDD cables as well as IDE->slimline laptop DVD-ROM converters and lotsa other stuff too. Your probably not wanting to go the "mini PC" route but www.mini-itx.com is a place to get some ideas from.
