CS:CZ(Steam in general) problems!

I just put together a new rig and installed steam, etc. Whenever I go into play Condition zero it wont run as OpenGL. When running as software or D3D is it extremely laggy and poor in graphics. How do I fix this graphics/lag problem?


Comp specs:
AMD Athlon XP 2800+
512mb ddr pc3200 RAM
MSI VIA KT4AV
Geforce4 mx440
