crt problem: less sharpness by higher frequency

i have a new iiyama 204 dt 22" crt monitor ...

my problem: 16x12 at 60 hz looks very sharp ... text looks great
but 16x12 at 85 hz i get a loss of sharpness
and 16x12 at 100 hz everything (especially text in windows menus or icons) looks very blurred

... is my monitor defect? or is that a feature?

hope anyone can help me with that ... thanks !!!
