Rabidz7, you seem to have a lot of interest in CRTs, and considering you're thinking of developing FED/SED displays, I would recommend you try to learn formally how the technology works.

To briefly answer your question, the "effective" pixel density along the horizontal direction depends on the electron optics, the quality of the video signal, the density of the trinitron phosphor triads, and the amount of veiling glare (which in turn is a function of ambient reflections, internal light reflections, diffuse transmission of electrons through the phosphor layer, and electron back scatter).

These factors will all determine the modulation transfer function of the display.
