Crossfire out and actually working???

There have been numerous reviews and previews and powerpoints and flash animations on websites etc. but is crossfire for the x8xx series actually out and working yet?
I know that the x18xx series is not out in crossfire yet...
It just seems that if crossfire anywhere is not stably out and easy to use for an average user (like nvidia sli) then by the time it does come out the r580 will be out (on paper) and getting an x850 master card will be a pointless undertaking, as it will not be like with nvidia where any card can be used so price drops a generation on apply, as with the x850 master card/x1800xt master card they will be new cards....
So is it out yet? can't find it on any of the standard culprits (dell, alienware, voodoopc)...

newegg, monarch, zipzoomfly all have x850xt master cards. they have been out for over 2 months. its the mobos that are slow. the intel 955x supported them before they released but the amd boards are finally making it to market.
 
You have the DFI RDX200 board which is out today and works fine once you learn how the new chipset interacts with the CPU. I have mine running the same exact overclock as I did with my DFI LanParty board. That is pretty good considering this is a NEW board working on the first beta BIOS available. Given a few BIOS updates, this board will be pretty solid.

Asus has a board due any day that looks extremely promising. So promising I might buy it.
 
how long till it is as stable and easy as sli?
also, is it not a bitch for the manufacturers, as it will be quite hard to gauge how many of these cards to make and in what range?
I mean has the uptake of the x8xx series of mastercards been high?
