Hi all!

I'm new to crossfire and wanted to ensure things are okay w/ my setup.

I have two 5770's on my MSI x58a-gd45 MB. I have checked the box labeled "Enable CrossFireX" in catalyst control center under gaming AMD CrossFireX configuration. However in AMD CrossFireX Diagnostics I see nothing in the box labeled "The following information indicates the status of your setup".

When i go under Information Hardware section it does show the second adapter as linked.
I only ask b/c windows gives me a 7.4 in graphics which is kinda lame w/ a crossfire setup.

CF only works in fullscreen environments , so your 7.4 sounds about right because WEI doesn't bench in fullscreen afaik.

I have a 7.7 in Graphics with CF 5850 , so by comparasion your setup looks fine!

If GPU-Z shows a second card, and CF is enabled in CCC you are good to go, fire up a fullscreen game and have at it.
 
From what I recall reading, the diagnostics box generally only shows something if there's an error. Never showed anything for me either. As long as the box for crossfirex is checked, you're good to go.
 
That's score is about right. I had the same thing with my previous CF 5770.
 
My box is empty too so you should be fine. Make sure to install the latest Caps for the games your playing. Those are the catalyst application profiles that are installed in addition to the drivers

We all know the game World of warcraft is not that of an intensive game when it comes to system spec's. With crossfire enabled and game settings to MAX... I'm stuck at 20 FPS in stormwind. When i do a queue they are between 87 and 120fps.

I like the 120 fps which is double what i was getting on a single card but the FPS did not change when i was in the "city".

These cards are not that old... Are they really that shitty of a card?
 
What makes you think its the card?
Try getting a quicker CPU and installing WoW on an SSD.
Makes a huge difference.

Wow is CPU limited, especially in cities.

You need to install them. They contain the profiles for the games to work in crossfire. All the old ones and the new ones listed with the info for the new applications supported If I'm not mistaken. Here is the newest fresh off the presses, if your using crossfire, download/install this asap

I put Radeon 5000 and win 7 32 bit, if your on 64 bit just go to amd.com and go to the driver download page and download 11.5 cap 1

no its the game.. definitely not the cards, and like ocellaris mention, the game is insanely cpu limited. due to the thread usage limit in WoW cpu clock speed is very important.

reboot your machine once. It doesn't work until you reboot and it loads after startup.

Not sure if your running it at stock or not but Wow is such a cpu frequency whore that if you overclock that cpu to 4.2 or higher you'll definitely be much better off.
 
WoW does not take advantage of extra cores. All it cares about is the clock speed of the one core it's running on.
 
i have no idea how to O.C on my MSI x58a-gd45 MB. I know my ram is not running @ it's stock speed either. I read some crap about it and changed my ram volts to 1.65 and qpi to 1.35 and it did not too speed up ram clock.
