Any good games to test out the might of eyefinity and 2 6970s?

Most games i've tried are bugged for either eyefinity, crossfire, or both.

Good question. I was pretty disappointed to get my eyefinity setup online and find that BC2 and Black Ops look like crap and are stretched without help from third-party software.

Just Cause 2 is supposed to be pretty good on multiple monitors.

I think Bad Company 2 looks great once you adjust the FOV which is pretty easy to do. Granted there is still a slight fisheye but nothing too bad really.

Its been awhile since ive played but Dawn of War II updated their game to support eyefinity and the fisheye effect isnt there or if it is, its minimal and its a really good game if your into RTS type games.

Ill let you know how Portal 2 handles the setup in a bit as im gettin ready to start that up here shortly.

Good FOV calculator:

Played a few hours of Portal 2 last night and its definately living up to the hype, which is awesome. Picked up on eyefinity right away and the fisheye effect is barely perceptible. Small oddity with it though is that in order to choose my fullscreen resolution I have to go with 16:9 setting instead of 16:10 (even though my monitors are 16:10).

Crysis/Warhead
Crysis 2
Call of Duty Blops
Just Cause 2
GTA 4/EFLC (still a buggy game with tons of memory purging issues but still looks great)
Batman AA
Mirrors Edge
left 4 Dead/2

Just to name a few

There is a bug on AMD 2GB cards on GTA 4/EFLC and a eyefinity bug with Left 4 dead if your going to run either of those PM me for the fix.

Oh damn, I forgot to mention that I prefer portrait 3240x1920

I enjoyed BC2 in portrait more than in landscape :p heaving everyones head look that much bigger just made picking them off that much easier! RAWR! however gunning in a helo with landscape was nice.

Dragon Age 2 is nice, however hard to push @ full rez + graphics

If I had IPS panels I would go portrait as well but being that I have TN panels, the off angle viewing is horrible and really screws with your eyes.

I agree there, I wouldn't have bothered with anything in portrait without an ips or *va screen.

Most of the time that is the truth, but you guys haven't seen my TN panels. 99.9% of the time though, you guys are right on. However at this point I had to chime in because I don't want everyone to think that there are absolutely no TN pannels that are portrait worthy.

I would say i was more impressed by my eyefinity setup than having my 6970's in crossfire. I play alot of games in eyefinity but at lower than maxed settings running 5760 x 1080. I was hopping that getting a second 6970 i would push games to the max but i find most games aren't playing well with eyefinity when i enable crossfire.

Here is the list i've tried and whether i had a positive or negative experience using both eyefinity and crossfire at the same time.

BFBC2 +
L4D2 - (have to disable xfire to play)
GTA 4 - (have to disable xfire to play)
BM AA + (just have FOV issues on cut scenes)
Metro 2033 - (horrible mouse issues in eyefinity)
Mirrors Edge + (have not tried this one in xfire yet but have it pretty much maxed with one card)
Call of Juarez:BB - (maxed in xfire but horrible FOV in eyefinity)

My purpose in this thread is to find out if i'm missing something or was buying another 6970 a waste of money to use in eyefinity?

Well I was having some choppyness with Eyefinity + xfire, 10.4 did help a bit, with the latest catalyst app profiles. otherwise everything ran perfect.

Heh, other than BC2, I havent played any of those games so im kinda worthless. I stick to a few core games and play the shit out of them such as BC2, MOH (the newer one), Portal 2, Crysis and its various expansions minus Console Crysis, Eve Online, Anomaly: Warzone Earth. These have all played nicely with eyefinity. DCS-A10 Warthog does not work with crossfire though. I opened a ticket with the devs and they said they never coded the game to work with crossfire and a patch won't be coming as it would require an extensive re-write of the code.

Basically, you didn't waste your money, your just not getting the full value of your purchase yet because eyefinity is still a new tech. on the market in the dev. time for games. I'm sure this time next year or even 6 months from now we will have a lot easier and better time with crossfire/eyefinity setups than we do now. Like I said previously, Portal 2 started up just fine running in eyefinity resolution...I can't think of another game off the top of my head that's worked with eyefinity without me going in and telling it to use a wonky resolution in the settings.

I played Dirt 2 lastnight and i have to say it's one of the best games i've tried with both crossfire and eyefinity.

Just had to change a couple in game settings and I was off.

i thought bc2 supports eyefinity. hmm guess not. does it make that much of a difference with the fish eye?

bc2 doesn't require help from third-party software for eyefinity. you need to change the fov in the settings.ini to correct the stretched image

it does but you still have to change the fov manually in order for it to work.

yeah i suffered from nausea trying to play on 3 monitors even after fov fixes etc, my new plan is 2 1080p projectors downstairs for all racing and flying titles :) No more bezels = win and driving 2 * 1080p should be easier on a single card thus eliminating CF issues with eyefinity - going to wait for new 7XXX series though.

Try Assassin's Creed 2 or Brotherhood, awesome CF scaling and great looking in eyefinity right out of the box.

My fav games for crossfinity:
Crysis/Warhead
Oblivion
Assassin's Creed 2/Brotherhood
NFS Shift
Dirt 2
NFS:Hot Pursuit
Medal of Honor

A lot of the other games seem to have issues with either stutter, flashing or tearing/vsync issue.

If you have any of those titles give them a go with Cat 11.4 and 11.3CAP5 as they seem the best for me. If you are experiencing issues with games try forcing profiles using RadeonPRO (excellent utility).

First off, I like your term "crossfinity" and will have to start using that in my posts.

Secondly, I just downloaded RadeonPro and will have to give that a try later tonight. I read over the site and it seems promising as a solution to some of the problems i've been having.

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is pretty kickass in Eyefinity. I am not sure how much it benefits from Crossfire as I haven't done any testing with one of my cards disabled

ArmA II is also pretty good in Eyefinty (though you might have to tone down the visuals quiet a bit). If you have TrackIR it makes it even more awesome
