I currently have a Gigabyte 6870OC (RMA replacement for a 4870X2) and want to run crossfire again.

Should I just get another 6870OC (not really much of an overclock) card to give me a matched pair,

Or,

Disregard any Brand name and go for the cheapest 6870 I can find, like this one for example:

Ignoring the silly prices applied here in the UK as against those in the USA.

I could overclock the card a bit to match the Gigabyte so that they are both running at the same speed.

No doubt if any of this doesn't make any sense, no doubt some will let me know.....:D
 
If it was me, I'd go with the cheapest, good warranty 6870 I could find and just match the clocks with my current OC 6870. Should not be difficult for you to overclock it to a "factory overclock" spec.
 
Thanks...............as much as I would like to pair up my card with another 6870OC card (looks neater in the case.....:D) I reckon that I will have to settle for a cheaper card, and just overclock it a bit as suggested.
Anyone with experience of XFX cards...........RMA, customer support, that sort of thing ?
I vaguely remember some feedback about XFX cards doing their own thing with them, and maybe not quite as good as another brand's reference offerings ?.
I am probably wrong though....
