Critique my system please!!

Hi, I am getting ready to assemble my first computer.

Here goes:

Mobile 35Watt Barton 2200+ ($21 cheaper than 2400+)
-I want to get this around 2.5GHz with around 220FSB.

NF7-S
-Where would I plug in a fan for the front of the case?

OCZ Performance Series 512MBx2 PC3500
-Can I OC this a little? Will it work with that mobo?

Antec SX1040BII with 400W Smart Power
2xRear 80mm Fans ~30CFM
1xFront 80mm Fan ~30CFM
-Will this have the proper amperage and what not?

Extreme Volcano 12
Arctic Silver 5

MSI RX9800 Pro
-I want to flash to XXL and get to at least 412/730 on ??stock cooling??

Other than that, I'm going with the SoundStorm, a Combo Drive, a Floppy, and an 80GB Western Digital SATA Drive.

So, help me if you can :D

First off what you have so far looks okay.
But can you please use the search button for threads like this. There are literally dozens created every day.

The literally dozens of threads created every day are all different. Do you think anyone else has created a thread with his exact questions and his exact system specs?

Anyways, that antec PSU should do fine, but you might want to look into getting a comparable Fortron/Sparkle PSU. They are cheaper and are considered by many to be of higher quality.

You might also want to look into getting a better HSF, such as a thermalright SP-97 or SLK-900. It would be a bit pricier, but worth it if your goal is 2.5ghz.

That memory should work fine, though you'd probably have to settle for lax timings if you overclock.

thanks everyone! (except for that first dude.. haha kidding)

i am going with an slk900a and a vantec tornado.

woot!

yeah yeah, I already knew i was an asshole.:p

But beware, those damn tornados are very very loud!

i wouldnt reccomend getting a tornado unless you dont mind the noise... for they are extremely loud.. sounds like an airplane

Ya the Vantec Tornado is a bad choice, unless cooling is the most important thing for you. You would be much better off with a couple of smaller fans.

I have to voice my disdain for OCZ RAM. I'm sure that djnes can agree, their RAM is so incompatible with many motherboards and I've seen it not work with the NF7-S, even different revisions of it. Plus, I wouldn't recommend PC3500 RAM for an AthlonXP since their architecture performs better on tighter timings compared to higher bandwidth RAM with looser timings. That's just my opinion though.

Everything else looks pretty good though.

your going to have a hard time doing this on a mobile 2200. it will probobly be able to hit 2.5ghz but youll need alot of voltage to do it. id get a mobile 2600 or a 35W 2400, they cost a little more but its a better chance to get that overclock your looking for.
