ok i had this working.. then had to format pc...
i followed the directions the site gave me.. and i can see that the player is connected but... it errors every time i try to add songs..

does anyone else have this player and problem.. or know how to fix it

I have that player and have had no such problems with it. What media software are you using? The best software that I've found for it to use is www.musicmatch.com and they have a plug-in for that player. Way better than the software that came with the player. Try that out and see if it helps fix it. Good luck. Let us know if you get it figured out.
