What happened to him? I looked and his last post was back in November of last year? I know he was a hardcore folder there for a little while and all of a sudden he just up and disappeared? :(

Looks like myself and Leslie have been the only ones to check his profile...

Anyone?

This is an unfortunate reality of DCing. People lose interest, lose their borgs, lose their ability/desire to pay the electric bill on their farm, lose the free time to pursue the hobby, or lose interest in the competition and just set everything to anonymous/team 0. Some people switch over to another team, switch to Seti/WCG/Einstein@Home/whatever else or even just change their name.

That being said, it would be nice if people would stop in and say goodbye if/when they decide to leave. That way nobody would have to worry.

And some can't afford to keep up with the changes in the technology and the hardware. The client changes can be discouraging for many... first it was the GPU1 client, then the SMP, GPU2... and what will be next??

Just sayin';)

I personally miss Larry.. he's a good guy, and his contributions around here ran far deeper than his points. I really hope all is okay...

Anyhooo... I guess sometimes it seems like no matter how hard you try, and no matter how much you really care about the cause and the project, hanging on to what you have and crunching the console clients is not really worth it. Of course, there is also the possibility that some may become discouraged after investing in dedicated hardware, and no sooner than everything is stable and productive, a new client pop's up. Surprise, your getting mowed over left and right.. blah blah blah:p

That's all I got... beers and tamales...

Fold On!!!

It's sad to see people get discouraged. Our team is still makes a large amount of it's points from console clients.

I do hope all is well.

Good to see our Lady folder and always good to see you Digi.
