Crazy Beeping From K7M....

Very recently, after I left my PC (K7M, 650 Mhz, running under
Win 2K) on for about an hour and a half, it started beeping like crazy--not in any particular number of beeps (corresponding to a particular problem), but just lots of continual shrill beeps.

I shut the PC down, waited a while, then rebooted, but the beeping continued. Finally, I shut it down for an extended period, and the beeping stopped.

It hasn't happened since, but what a scary experience!

Any feedback on this ominous occurance?

Thanks.

sounds like an cpu overheating problem.

clean out any dust on the heatsink or reattach it with a some new thermalpaste/ clean off the fan
