I recently put in a fan ducking system and another cold cathode light. When I use 100% of my CPU my computer shuts off. It isn't the OS because I tried 3 different linux kernels that I know worked in the past. There is tiny little chips around a corner of my core. Does anyone know if this is the problem? Any suggestions? It's a AMD 2800xp on a MSI kt400 board with a 400w PSU.

1) are you overclocking
2) what brand of psu
3) what do your voltage rails look like

give us somemore info please

welcome to the [H]ard scene:)

Well I do no overclock at all. The box ran stable and was fine for about a year and a half. I added a ducting system which involved screwing into my HSF. By applying pressure on the hsf while screwing the ducting into the fan of the hsf I might have damaged the core. The core looks rough around a corner but there isn't any chunks out of it. My PSU is some generic 400w. I do not know the voltage rails of it.

Have you tried disconnecting the cold cathodes?

Simplest thing to do, and if your computer stops rebooting you know what the problem is.

Might want to check out a quality PSU like Antec.
