Q6600 G0
So I have been experimenting with overclocking. Right now vcore is on auto and I adjusted the FSB so my CPU is clocked at 2900mhz. Idle on CPUZ with speed stepping (becuase my evga mobo like everyone has said on the forums refuses to turn it off) @ 1600mhz sits at 1.16v. Under prime load, CPU-Z says it is at 1.224v.
So I bumped up the FSB to so my CPU was at 3ghz (still vcore on auto). I could tell my mobo really bumped up the voltage becuase my temps made a big increase and my voltage under load in cpu-z was reading 1.4v. So after reading this thread here, I saw that he ran completely stable at 3ghz @ 1.2625v. So I thought that I should atleast run idle when I set my vcore to 1.32v. I was lucky to make it into my desktop and it would lock up when I would start to run prime, but cpu-z would always show a much lower voltage that I set in my bios. So who is telling the truth, CPU-Z or bios?
