I have just built my new system, which includes a gigabyte K8NSNXP and along with it, an Athlon 64 FX53 Socket 939 CPU. When I go to the temp readings in the mobo, I am getting in the low to mid 20's in Celcius. From my brief dealings with CPU temps, this is insanely low, especially for a system with a stock HSF. Does this reading sound incorrect, or should I overclock to my heart's content?

No, you're first instinct was right. It's reading too low. Don't know what to suggest...except being very careful when OCing... ;)

Why not just overlock to your heart's content anyway? Just prime or something to see if its stable.
