CPU problem...?

I was building a cheap comp for a friend, and whenever it cold boots i get a BSOD (reinstalled windoze twice with differnet disks). I had another set of the same mobo and ram, so i swapped the old hardware out. Unfortunately the problem persists. I was wondering if it was a cpu problem, but once the system boots and remains stable for about 2-3 minutes it works fine for an indefinite amount of time. If any one can shed light on this, it would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

Specs of system in question:

Biostar (M-ATX) M7NCG400 (integrated GF4 mx440)
1x256mb geil pc2700
amd athlon xp 2500+ 1.83ghz core 333mhz bus
80gig Western Digital SE
lite on 48x24x48x16 cd-rw +dvd
Windows XP home

Probably power supply.

If its not quite supplying enough power to spin everything up togther then you will get the BSOD.
Once everything is spinning then its runs ok.

Either try disconnecting the cd-rom drive and any case fans and see if it cold boots pk.
Or just try a different psu.

Luck....... :D

Thanks, ill be sure to try that. The power source should be fine.... its 300watt with 15amps on the 12v rail, but it could always be messed up.
