Unsure of where to post this, but figured I'd get some good points from you guys.

thinking of going with a mobile 2600+ and OCing to 2500mhz or so, if I can. I'm also looking into buying an x800 xt pe or a 6800ultra. The sole purpose of this is: gaming, I do a lot of it, I also use the comp for school quite a bit. I'm a college student, so i don't have thousands to throw out to get a new high end 64-bit setup coupled with quality ram and a new 3dcard. The question I wanted to ask you guys is this: Is it worth it to throw out $500 bucks to get one of these top of the line 3d cards (6800ultra or x800 xt PE) while sticking with an OCed mobile 2600+ to 2500mhz speeds? Am I gonna see top performance out of my system and the 3D card? I usually run games at 800x600 or 1024, and am really not big into having every single detailed feature on, although I do want the highest FPS i can get for the new stuff coming out (HL2, Doom3). Just trying to decide on whether I should wait, earn some more money, then go for a 64-bit processor (if thats where my Vid Card will pay off) or buy some cheaper components now (mobo -abit nf7-s, processor - mobile 2600+) OC and upgrade down the line, or buy the parts now knowing I will get full performance out of my graphics card. Really would like to hear what you guys can lead me to, instead of just going out and buying what I think is best. Also, can anyone give me a good idea for RAM to get if I do decide to go with the mobile 2600+ setup? Appreciate it guys.

I dont have a good comp right now...got an athlon xp 2000+ running and stock speeds. Just wondering if its better to go mobile 2600+ now and get a top of the line vid card...then purchase new mobo and a-64 processor down the line, or just buy the a-64 now...will I see big CPU limitations if I play most games at 1024x768 low AA and AF if any with the mobile oced to 2500mhz and an x800xt?

I want great FPS, other stuff doesnt matter to me
