deciding to get into watercooling for awhile, and havnt had the time/money, well now i have the money and will make time ;) , anyhow, on to the questions, which is better push or pull (i know its been done to death) do you really need a shroud? and can i put the rad on top of the case and the res in one of the lower 5.25" drive bays, this is the case im going for, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16811112074

i was looking heavily at a fully dangerden system but have opted for a swiftec storm extrem system, well thats the WB, its a hybrid system, with Black Ice XtremeII Radiator, Typhoon Single 5.25" Bay Reservoir, Fluid XP+ Magnum Pump, Swiftech MCW55™ Extreme Duty VGA Waterblock, and purchasing some tubing from my local home depot. was also eyeing a chipset waterblock.

will be buying from 3 sites, frozen cpu(everything else), dangerden(rad), and newegg (case)

i am planning on dremeling the top of the case to fit the rad inside and fans out side, then making a shroud/cover thing to cover the fans. i want to make this as neat as possible.

is there a certan configuration i should go with? pump->cpu->vga->rad->res???

ok so quite a few questions.

Triple rad mounted in the center divide. Sure, Frozen CPU wants $599.00 for it which, in my opinion, is highway robbery.


BUT, since you're planning on dremeling already anyway, might not be a bad idea. Just PRACTICE on something else first so you dont muck it up!

But it would be nice, neat, self-contained, and no fans blowing at your ears.
 
Dont get that pump or FluidXP+

Get a Laing D5 or AquaXtreme50z and then use some distilled water and additive of your choice (antifreeze most likely) for your coolant.

When planning the loop there are only two things you need to consider :
  • Have the pump after the resevoir in loop order, and physically below the resevoir
  • Arrange the rest of the loop in whichever fashion that provides the least amount of tubing...the order of components will not have a noticeable effect on cooling.


To make the modding of the case look clean the AquaComputer Radiator Grills make it very simple, you can get them from SharkaComputer (haha beat TN!). Speaking of TN she probably has a lot of great advice for you about watercooling in the V2000, I am sure she will be along shortly.

i heard its bad to put the rad at the top of the case, hard to bleed air out? hmm i may do that, with the rad in the center, but my concern is the heat from the hdds will interfere with the cooling.

that and im going to heavily mod my psu and wires so i can get a clean case. heatshrink here i come!

i would buy the BIE III from dangerden, the II is only around 50 there and theyre charging a100 for it. ripoff.

Go Rad>cpu>vga>pump>res

You want the water going into your CPU block to be at it's coldest point which is typically straight out of the rad.
 
I think pump-> rad -> cpu -> vga -> res would work better, i dont want the rpesssure to drop that much when it goes through the res first. hopefully i can get it going soon.. im only 17 so credit cards are a bit out of the question.

btw whats wrong with the Fluid XP+ Magnum Pump (they have a dangerden one literally the same just different faceplates).

Depends on who you are and what you want:
But MCT-5 is better than FluidXP+, if you want non-conductivity. Otherwise stick with the water and antifreeze.

Ya sorry... didn't think of that... never used a res... always a T fill line.
