During the summer, the heat my 60GB emitted was noticeable. I don't notice it as much now that it's fall. 40GB units have fewer components and other changes and supposedly run cooler if you get a good one.

PS3 power draw - how much does it draws from an outlet?

My 60GB supposedly draws ~200W when folding. A 40GB unit supposedly draws ~20% less.

PS3 cost per month - how much would it cost to run one 24/7 for a month?

Depends on your local rates.

Linux development on the PS3 has not progressed enough for this to work. The PS3 client is the most efficient way to fold with the PS3.

I didn't notice the heat. It is in the living room and it's pretty open.

200W is what I hear. Maybe a small drop with the screen saver active.

at $.12 per kWh it comes out to $17.85??? (I must be off on this.) for 31 days.

200W * 24hours =4800W or 4.8kWh. 4.8kWh * $.12 per kWh= $.576 then * 31 days = $17.856

Linux I think doesn't work on the PS3 with FAH. Using the program is what is recommended for the PS3.

I can vouch that the first 500 kWh from my power co. is $.12 then every kWh after is $.087. These averages don't seem anywhere near right.
