I've seen reviews of Corsair 800D, Whats so special about this case in terms of heat and Dust? It looks pretty simple. So whats so special about this case, which makes it so expensive?
 
Feature-wise, its a case, just like any other competing case on the market. Finish and overall quality is really what separates the tiers.
 
That really depends on what you're looking for, no? If you're the type that just wants a case to simply hold your components without breaking the bank, then obviously its not worth spending $299 on a case. But if you're looking for a high quality, good looking (subjective) case that has all the features to hold all the latest and greatest specs, then yes, its definitely worth spending $299 on a case. Its really no different than all the higher end cases on the market such as lian-li and silverstone.

Its like asking 'is it worth spending $120k on an S-Class benz.

Yes, it's very spacious, lots of air flow, great cable management, awesome case and I highly recommend it for high-end builds.

What he's trying to say is: your average HAF case carries the exact same feature-set, why get an 800D if a HAF can do the same.

I gave a direct answer to the question he posed, why buy this case. Look at how much room is in this thing, it's WAY bigger than the CM 690 Advanced 2, Antec 182P or Antec 902. This case is for building high end rigs. I wouldn't recommend it for a budget or mainstream game build as it WAY too much for those.
 
Its subjective, but for me its the very clean look, water cooling possibilities, cable management under the main tray, modding possibilities and again, its water cooling possibilities. It probably was not the first, but it was the first that I saw with the cable management setup that first caught my eye. I'm actually more of a 700 fan since I don't really care for the window. Before this case came out I was going to go with a Silverstone TJ09 or 10. I like the Corsair better. I think it has better modding for water cooling possibilities.

can any of those fit a triple rad with push AND pull up top? and a simple drill out of the 2nd hard drive cage for another triple rad, or dual if you have a long psu? thats right, 2 triple rads internal to the case. not many cases can do this.

the 700/800D were made for water, not air.. the amount of space in the corsairs is what makes it better. its massive, and a well thought out case.

and haf vs 800d, not everyone likes the rugged look of the hafs, people like the clean simple look of the corsair. that is enough for most to take it over the haf. also the corsair is made of aluminum/steel not plastic/steel like the haf

This is what I can offer you. I spent about $2300 on a new system 10 months ago. I bought a fairly nice Cooler Master. 10 months into this I wish I had spent the extra $150 on the 800D. It's just so sexy.
 
It is extremely well thought out and has tons of space for those of us that just have to mess with the stuff inside every other day. If you water cool, it is the only way to go,

Like the others say, it depends on what kind of PC you're building.
I don't like any of those cases you listed because I buy high end cases mostly.

If your going to spend a lot on your PC, get a quality case.
Looking at your current components, a 600T will do just fine. High end features without breaking the bank.

I am using a 800D. I'm meh with the air flow, but things have improved after I dumped a bunch of Noctua fans into it.

I got the 800D because I love the simple lines and solid build. I would have bought a Lian Li, but their logo turned me off. lol
 
If you're looking for the best aircooling, there's better cases out there, but If you're looking for a case with tons of space, countless watercooling options, and serious attention to detail, then I would suggest spending the money on the 800/700D. Dust-wise, the case has a bottom mounted dust filter to help keep out dust from the intake fan and the psu, but like every other case, it isn't dust immune and you'll want to dust the inside every once in a while. The case is packed with features, and the cable management grommets keeps builds nice and tidy. The case is pretty big though so if you're tight on space or desk real estate this may not be the case for you, but if you're looking for a feature packed case with great looks and tons of features, I'd say the money would be well spent, and im sure other 800D owners would agree:).
 
Yes this is a VERY big case, you'll need room for it. As for its air cooling prowess if you add fans at the top its pretty good, I've got a lot of hot components in mine and heat just isn't an issue. This is a great case for 3x CF or SLI.
 
I'm not into the whole watercooling thing (H70 is as far as I'm willing to go) but I love the 800D. The case just screams "I'm a professional" all over it. Most cases I buy only see one motherboard in its lifetime. The 800D on the otherhand, would probably see multiple builds because it just seems so timeless and robust.

Its like one of those things in life, why buy a mansion if only my wife and two kids are going to be living in it? As long as you can afford it, then its all gravy.

if you arent going to watercool, imo look towards a silverstone rv02 or ft02. the ft02 has that professional look you seek, and is probably one of the best air cooled cases out
 
You can get this case on Amazon for $269. I think this is a great case, and will be purchasing it soon. I like the cable management, and the cooling design.

I also like that It can be setup for watercooling down the line.

Just my .2cents :)
