I"m switching one of my rigs from a geforce2 to a radeon 9600 pro but I need to know what steps to take to completely remove the nvidia display drivers (without having to FORMAT). I remember there was a program to do this, but I can't remember the name, please help me out.

Driver Cleaner 2.5
Google and follow the directions!
Good Luck

Why would you need to do this? Why doesn't the ATI install handle this on its own?

Because the ATI install will install drivers for the new card that's detected, and has nothing to do with removing older NVIDIA drivers from previous video cards. Nothing will be overwritten, just left behind and that could cause problems.

reformating is such a hassle some times, especially when (like me, now) your cdrw doesn't seem to function at all :(

But yes I'd say format!

with a chainsaw  :D

I prefer a crowbar.

Also, just drivercleaner it.. don't mess with reformatting unless the Drivercleaner doesn't work..(which it should)
