ok, so, i'm having a hell of time here at home downloading new cores.

i'm going to be putting these on a password protected FTP server so that my systems can access them as needed.

anyone got the 7a core?

The cores are Stanford's, and according to their website, you can only download the cores from them. If you want to get a good copy and save it somewhere, and then copy it out as necessary, that's fine and good, but redistributing them is against the EULA.

 
i'm putting them on my ftp server just 'cos i anticipate problems with several other units that i've got running also.

unfortunately my netgear WGT624 router is a bitch to setup for port forwarding in this case, so this is really my only alternative at the moment.

actually...used a hex editor and trimmed some fat on the FAH files and created BZ's which i unzipped and presto! instant core fix.

Yeah I do. It is on one of my two machines. IT is odd though, they machine it is on, actually has 3 cores. And my main machine has 2 on it (78 and 65). Why are there multiple cores? What is the significance of each core?

 
Core_78 is for gromacs
Core_65 is for Tinkers
Core_7a is for Double Gromacs

I forget right now what the AMBER core is... 79? or 85?


Only one core should be running at a time... dependant on which protien your client is running....

Doesn't the FAH client run a checksum on the cores to make sure they're untampered-with/untainted?
 
i'm sure it does, but this is a FAH approved method of manual core delivery. it doesn't tamper with the core itself...you're simply just removing some empty header data.
