Looking to build a new rig but I'de like to use up some of these parts. I don't have a 8800GTX or anything so would this hold up?

Some of what parts?

Generally speaking, 550 is plenty.
My new C2D with 2 raptors and a 500 WD, DVD burner, 2GB & X1950 pro run on an HX 520 from Corsair.

edit: I guess you likely mean the parts in your sig, yeah you'll be fine as long as you don't buy a bargin bin PSU.
edit, again: which I guess you have the bargin bin thing... you should upgrade.

I am running an E6600 oc'ed to 3.6ghz, quite heavily oc'ed 8800GTS, 1 hard drive, 1 optical drive, 2GBs of mems and a X-Fi fine on a 450W psu.

Yes, but you have an Antec 450W. The OP is running a Rosewill 550W, which is whatever company was the lowest bidder for NewEgg. I wouldn't trust the Rosewill.

As Sheila said in Red vs Blue:
Actually, I'm a product of the military contractor that made the lowest bid. I'm a little ashamed of that.
Great series, btw! :)

550 watt power supplies come in a wide variety of quality. Some are fantastic, some are OK, and some are just plain horrible.

The Rosewill can be put in that "horrible" category.

In your case, your parts aren't going to be particularly hungry, compared to today's video cards, etc., and your power supply *could* power it up. However, I don't recommend it, since it would be the same thing as putting dirt-filled gasoline in car. Your car could run, but would sooner or later, pay the price.
