Dam, it sucks that the 775 socket is going "obsolete" soon. Figures all the great MATX just came out... but most of us will be upgrading for Christmas and other winter holidays anyways. How long do you guys think it will be until we will see a Great OCing board like the DFI and ASUS boards?

We will see a variety of boards soon after the official launchdate of the processor. Overclocking theese new processors will be fine and pretty good with the first wave of boards it seems. I for one, is going to wait for the second generation of the processor. Motherboards are way to expensive and s775 is going to keep the low and mid end of the market for a while. But yes, the core 2 era is coming to an end in during mid/end 2009.

We're not going to see mATX i7s for a while, and the 775 is not getting obsolete until i7 becomes affordable like current 775 CPUs, mobos, ram which I believe happens when they start throwing 1166 into the wild.

I am going to stick with Core 2s for a while, as there are some impressive Core 2 Quads out there (i.e. Q9650) that I want to get my hands on... and when LGA775 becomes old news, I have a feeling prices on those will drop like a lead balloon just like the Q6700s did.
