Core Duo (not Conroe) question

Thanks, I didn't think it was. A freind was trying to convince me that NGMA was already out and it was in the Core Duo from January. I told him it wasn't, and he didn't beleive me.

from my understanding of intel, the chip that was codenamed Yonah is now called core-duo. It is the evolution of the pentium-m dothan chip.

That's what I thought too, and P-M was an evolution of P6 (PPro, P2, P3)

P-M is loosely based on P3 architecture, but performs much better clock for clock. NGMA comes with Conroe (Core 2 Duo) and will be even better though.

Is merom (sp?) not the first mobile NGMA mobile chip?

It is. I just had a friend trying to persuade me that Yonah was the first. I ended up getting myself all confused trying to argue the point with him and asked on here.
