Hey all, upgraded my buddy's p4 3.2HT/Asus 915 to a C2D e6300 on an Asus P5B.

So far just did the vdimm mod to get the OC stable, doing vcore & vdrop mod soon.

My problem is that the cpu is running very hot. Have it running at 3.15 @ 1.4v (1.5 in bios and drops to 1.4). Problem is that it is idling at 50* and reaching 70*-ish under load. Using his old Coolmaster hyper 48 and added some arctic silver 5. Cleaned everything beforehand.

I am thinking that the motherboard is reporting the temps wrong. I remounted thwe heatsink twice, no change.

What could be causing the problem? bad cpu/otherboard/heatsink?
