So I got my first coolit from amazon about 3 weeks ago, but as soon as I put it in upside down in my case (it has to go upside down, since I have the lian-li pc v1000b case), the pump was making a very loud sound, and when I put my hand to it, I could feel it vibrating. I called coolit, and they told me to rma it and get a new one. When I got the new one, I put it in, and it worked great for about 5 days now (almost silent), but I came home the other day to find that the pump is loud again and vibrating loudly. I noticed that it gets louder if I put it sideways, rather than upside down as it is in my case. I'm thinking that maybe there is air in the pump, but im not for shure. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Coolit just keeps telling me to send for a new one, but I'm pretty shure that it isnt gonna solve anything.

Just curious to know if the CoolIT manual mentions anything about the orientation of the mounting. I know some WC pumps warn against having the intake inlet of the pumps pointing down.

Since you RMA'd it once already, did you mention the fact that the unit was mounted upside down when you called them? If so, I guess it might be okay, but then you could also be dealing with "Script" support instead of "tech" support.

I wonder who makes the pumps that are in those.... C-Systems, perhaps? ;)

when I called, they said that my setup should be fine, and ive also seen other people with it on its side, as well as upside down, theres no way that you can mount it so that the inlet on the pump would be pointing down, as its always on the side.

OK... so I wonder if other owners of the CoolIT system are having the same problems.

Just curious as to how many times you're willing to get that product RMA'd before you request a refund. :)

I'd say one more time before I request a refund. Amazon.com rma's are EZ though, and they overnight it to me, but its still a pain in the ass to replace it.

Doing some more overclocking, and the pump started getting louder. now idle temps are about 67c and load 75c, @ 3.8ghz on the e6600. where as at 3.6ghz(when i first got the coolit) temps were 23c idle and 27c load. maybe the pump isnt circulating the water as fast as it was before. Also, now the blocks on either side of the radiator, which used to be cold to the touch under load conditions are now very hot to the touch(maybe those are borken too). I'm going to give coolit another call (got the number of one of their technicians) and see what they have to say.

Wow... pretty big difference in temps from the time when it was new. I was very interested in the CoolIT Freezone system when it was announced, but wanted others to be the "guniea pigs" before I invested into it. Hope they get things worked out... looked like a great product, but with the results you've seen, it doesn't seem to be the case. Hope you get satisfaction in the end.... or a refund.

Good Luck.
