Hi

Im looking to build a new system, with like Athlon 64 3500+, Asus A8N-SLI deluxe, and a MSI 6800GT.

I need a 24pin atx psu. I have selected 3 to pick from.

1. Cooler Master 450w ACLX (no active power factor correction) - $99
2. Cooler Master 550w ACLY (active power factor correction) - $155
3. Antec Truepower 2.0 430w - $159

I dont really want to spend more that A$120 ish on a PSU,

So which one should I pick?

PS These are going in a Cooler Master Centurion V case, and I want to minimize the noise of the computer

I'd go for the TruePower II 430W. 3% regulation is a good thing. That's not saying the Coolermasters are bad, I've just had a good experience with the Antec.

You need to figure your peak draw before you really decide on anything. While all three are almost a sure shot to work you really should know going in that way if you add another hard drive or videocard(I see that SLI board ;) ) you won't be rudely surprised. As for quiet........get a Seasonic....or maybe one of the superflower's with the 140mm fan.

Im not sure about my peak draw,
but I would estimate between 300-380w,

are coolermaster PSU's good? they have the MTTF at 400000hours...
for the expensive ones,

or is antec really the best?

i say the antec since i juss got mine and its very nice but damn where are u buying it froM? $159 is alot for that one....it usually goes for lik $75

im in australia thats why the prices are australian dollars :p

anyone else want to share?

or is antec really the brand i should get?

No Antec is not the best. THey are good but not the best. You can figure the peak draw from the calcualrot in the how to..... sticky.

My peak draw from the calclutor page was about
320. I think a 450w + is my safest best, Since I may have more optical drives or harddrives later on.

However, how is coolermaster for quality, I heard Antec has 3 year warranty?
