I just installed a Cooler Master V8 CPU Cooler, and want to give you guys my thoughts and experience so far........

I've installed one of these massive coolers for a friend on his i7 build a few months backs, so installing mine was a breeze. The directions for it are very easy to understand and read. You just remove your current heatsink/back plate and install the new one. Pretty standard stuff I know but figured I'd tell you that much.

I installed mine in a cooler Master Elite 341 Mini Tower, and I barely got the side on, so it is a tight fit, per the specs the cooler stand 158mm tall.

My AMD Phenom II x4 955 BE idles around 20 degrees Celsius per my ASUS Suite utility, and under load gets to about ~45 degrees Celsius.

My previous temps were 35c idle 50-55c, so the cooler defiantly helps out quite a bit, I am very happy with the set up.

I got the CM 342 Elite & CM V8 from a local mom and pop store for only 80 dollars plus tax, So I got a smoking deal.

Probally because no one would buy the heatsink for the 70 dollar price they were asking, my area seems to have very little high end pc stores or enthusiasts. Its actually the only store I know in the Buffalo Area that sells any kind of high end/pc mods. Best Buy is really the only thing.

I'll try to take some pictures to show off my set up, and how crammed the heatsink is in my case

I installed a V8 on a AMD 965 BE in a CM Storm Case a year ago. Got great temps with it. Idled at around 25 degrees Celcius. A little bit heavy imo, but it does the job. V8 for $80 though is quite expensive...got mine for like $40ish?
