Any ideas on realistic coolant temps?

My idle coolant temp is around 25C in a system consisting of an X2 4400 and 7800GTX 512.

WC spec as follows:

Storm G4
DangerDen Maze 4 LP
1250 Pump
Thermochill PA120.3

Tygon 7/16", 3x Panaflo 120mm High-speed BX fans running at minimum spin voltage.

this is likely better suited for the Water Cooling section (one more step up) but are you asking what you think your load temps would be? or actual (real) idle temp?

rather than going with panaflos dialed way down......might want to see what you can do with some yate loons.

now...just what temp do you keep your room at that you think that you can attain 25C coolant temps? in the winter, that would be no problem for me, however during the summer, my room pretty much never goes below that.

A better question to ask would be "what realistic delta can I expect between the coolant and my room (in terms of temperature)?". Everything is relative, and that is one big thing people seem to lose sight of.

My homemade external watercooling box has an inline water temperature sensor built in. If you are interested in more data concerning my setup, visit my worklog http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=915156.

The temperature in my room is about 19C right now. The temperature of the water fluctuates (due to the + or - accuracy of the thermal diode) between 21 and 22C. So, with my setup, the delta is (obviously) 2-3C.

Daishi, got to ask you, do you get paid by Yate loon?
You pimp these things so hard! ;)

If I was you I would be asking for some income and the title "Pimper" :D :p

Iam not replacing the fans, Iam using a home made inline temperature with an aquaero sensor.

thing is that for the longest time i was hearing about how great they are, and they weren't available up here.

you probably don't wany to know just how many fans have come across my desk over the years........

a while back a friend of mine picked up some nexus units, and even though they are slowed down to make them quieter than the OEM fans, they showed some good build quality, no motor noise, and no bearing noise. i was even more impressed having hadled them.

i have some U1A panaflo fans that are just amazing. i would say that to my ear, dialed down as slow as my controller can get them, they are about as quiet as yate loons and still move a bit more air.

some people have had pretty lackluster experiences with their L1A panaflo fans, and i'll admit that my own L1As still make motor noise when dialed down.

i used to pimp panaflo, as i have had good experiences with my own. additionally, with my thick as hell BIX2 rads, the stronger motors used in panaflo units let them drive more air through the rad at a given speed.

having done a good bit of reading, and done a personal comparison, i think that people should get some pretty good and quite consistent results using the yate loon 120mm fans.

i also really like the delta fans that i have tried. i would love to test some of their recent 3-blade low speed units out as well, but no place in canada sells them.

if i was building computers for sale, i would go with panaflo or delta. the yate loon units are quieter, and i'd love them for my own use. i know how to take care of them. panaflo and delta fans can take amazing amounts of punishment though......it's kind of creepy, that i can kick one down the stairs and it still works fine. i would have expected the bearings to get damaged, but in the ones that i beat up on, they made it through without a problem. that's the kind of reliability that i would want in a computer that i might be called on for warrenty service: damn hard for an incompetent end user to screw up.

I just bought a pair of...
NMB-MAT Panaflo 120mm Ball Bearing 2500RPM 104 CFM fans
From NCIX, plan to use them for a BIX2.

Looking forward to seeing what these bad boys can do.

Just check it out on line and it says that the
NMB-MAT Panaflo 120mm is really a 86CFM / 35dBa fan, not the 104CFM / 41dBa fan.

Do you know which is correct Daishi
