Hello, Ive got a logitech webcam that I record interviews on, and then I transfer them from the logitech software to another computer to put them on DVD. However, I can watch the AVI files on windows XP but not on vista? How can I fix this? I am using the latest version of WMP on vista. Second question. What program would I use to put one of these AVI files (300mb ish) onto a DVD so i can pop it in ANY DVD player and be able to watch it with sound? Also, how do I do that once i find a program? Thanks

for your vista/avi issue. you need to install the proper codecs.
i highly highly recommend this one
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_lite_codec_pack.htm

and if you must encode video from avi to something else, i recommend this.
http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/
it has presets for all sorts of things from ipods to psp to ntsc. but encoding takes cpu and time.

i used to try to do that, but it sucked for the most part. so i bought a new dvd player, a philips dvp 642. it got kinda old and i needed one with newer codecs, so i got a Philips DVP3140. they also have one with upconverting for hd displays. but if you just want to watch your avi, divx ,xvid files on your tv, this is definately the way to go. this dvd player will play the avi files natively.

DVD Flick is a good AVI to DVD converter.

Also, try ConvertXtoDVD.
