Today was the deadline for VCDX applications and designs if you want to defend at VMworld. Turned my stuff in. Not sure how it'll go as I had a family emergency this week which greatly reduced the time I had. Now I wait....
 
Was accepted to defend for my VCDX the week before VMworld. We'll see how it goes. :)

Well, I'm in San Francisco. My VCDX panel defense is tomorrow at 1pm. Let's just say I'm a little stressed. I don't think I'm ready..but no pushing it back now.

No. I've been approached already by the major players. I could be a vSpecialist for EMC right now if I wanted to do it.
 
Well, I don't think worrying about what to do when I get my VCDX will be a problem for a while. I pretty much tanked part of the defense today. Not really happy with my performance. Can't say much more than that due to the NDA..... Oh well, onward to VMworld! Have right at 500 people registered for my Nexus 1000v sessions.
 
Oh man, sorry to hear that, hopefully there was a bunch of positive stuff to take away from it as well though, tips, contacts, etc.

Props NetJunkie, good for you. I am looking to do this hub-bub this next year, but I really prefer it to be on vSphere. I haven't started reviewing all the req's, but I assume a VCP 4 would work? or not?

I would love to be some VCDX number below 100 :)

My submitted design was a vSphere design. For a VCDX3 you could do ESX3 or vSphere. If you haven't started yet your only option is vSphere as they are not taking any more VCDX3 submissions now. If you want below 100 go ahead and sign up for the VCAP-DA exam so you can get in on the first wave of VCDX4s. They are already scheduled for defenses in October (VMworld Europe) and November. After that it'll be Partner Exchange in February.
