Consider this when purchasing a Mac mini

I agree. for normal "dell people", macs are better. almost anyone can figure it out how to re-install Mac-Os, in the rare event that it should fail. My parents know how to reinstall MacOs. On their dell, they cant figure out anything. Id like the idea better of people who email and internet ONLY, using a $500 macintosh versus a peice of crap overpriced undersuppored underpowered dell.

saying a $450 shuttle system is better than a factory macintosh isnt fair. Its like saying you bought a $50 car with a blown up engine, put in a better one in and calling it faster than a $300,000 ferrari. Of course home made PCs are far cheaper than macs, and far cheaper than dells.

Just look at this Emachine. Its probably better than the macintosh, and it comes with a monitor & Keyboard. But my 20Yr old macintosh has a fool-proof bios. If something goes wrong, it flashes a sad-mac face. No cryptic error messages, anyone knows what a sad computer face means, or a computer faces with x's for eyes.

Untill there is a fool-proof PC and OS, mac is still a better option for grandma and grandpa to do their email and ebay.
