conroe sff possible with modding?

this guy managed to fit a full ATX mobo in a Qpack without making the case bigger. So I think this means that it is possible to have a nice conroe sff that can handle overclocking.

If i had the modding skills, i would do the same thing. Problem is i don't know where to start.

I wish there was modded version of the qpack for sale so that we can fit full ATX mobos in it.
Im amazed that it is possible to fit an ATX case without increasing the size of the qpack.

This means that we don't have to wait around for a conroe overclocking mobo or use the current crappy ones. Now if i can just know how to do this mod...

It is possible without modding... just not with decent boards.

He gives you a step-by-step tutorial of what he did. You could do it, you just have to be motivated to.

Most if not all of the cube cases should be able to fit a full ATX with modding. Standard mATX dimension is 9.6" x 9.6", most cube cases are larger than this. The question is, are you willing to take the time and make the sacrifices involved.

I meant mATX boards. Going off your thread title...

I am not sure what company designed the X-Qpack/Microfly, but we should all target Aspire to see if they will build an ATX cube with similar dimensions to the X-Qpack. They changed their name to "Apevia." I am sending an e-mail to their suggestion dept:

Good idea. I cannot go back to full ATX tower cases. They take up alot of space, are heavy, and just not pleasing to handle. I will send a suggestion too. It would be awesome if they made such a case.

It would not be that hard because they just have to put the I/O panel on the sides to allow full ATX mobos to fit.

OK OK it's certainly not SMALL. It's at least 9.5" x 12" x 13" (estimating from photos). But you can stuff an ATX mobo in there along with other full size components (even an Enermax Galaxy 1000W would probably fit) which is a big plus IMO. No mods and no mATX. The Q-Pack is not much smaller at 13.8" x 11.2" x 9".

You got me there. I don’t think I have ever come out and said the Microfly or X-Qpack were small, but they are manageable. There was a poll and the majority considered minitowers to fit in that category. Not me, but I think most people’s idea of SFF has more to do with aesthetics and taste. If it’s not small, it better at least be square…

Anyway, send an e-mail to Apevia if you want a cube ATX.

I would definately consider this case because right now all the good boards for conroe are ATX.
