looks like a Merom World Record!

Holy crap! A 14.5 run. I can’t wait to see the gaming numbers on release conroes… Looks like intel set phasers for pwnage.

<edit>
Reading on in that thread... It's down to 14.3. Also saw that conroe is doing better clock for clock than merom. (Again- Holy Crap!)

How is winning a debate being childish.
It is not.

You have basicly been owned...
That is.

You stated that having a clottered desktop doesn't hurt performance False statement.
Let me tell you a little bit about how most modern GUIs work. To save display time, only the areas that need to be redrawn/updated are processed. These are frequently called "damaged" areas. If you have a benchmark window open, the visible area of the desktop never needs to be redrawn, as only the benchmark window is changing. The static icons on the desktop do not need to be redrawn so they have zero impact on the benchmark. This is esspecially true to full-screen graphics benches where the icons are not even visible. If one was to drag windows and stuff around causing the icons to need to be redrawn, it would slow things down slightly with a cluttered desktop. Seeing as no one in their right mind would drag things around while trying to get a world record score anyways, the icons are mainly a non-issue.

Not true. With all other variables being the same, a cluttered box will post the exact same scores as a tidy box. So, you are in fact incorrect. However, you are right that increased airflow could lead to a better OC.

Yes you were owned in that tiny whinny debate . How is that childish.
The fact that you say he was "owned" is childish. If you're having trouble comming up with a way of saying you were right without being obnoxious or offensive, I could give you a few pointers over PM. No one likes a sore looser or an obnoxious winner. Don't get mad at me for explaining it to you, you asked.

As for the other fella's comments he had to resort to name calling or insults.
I assume you mean me. Go read my post. I never insulted anyone and certainly didn't call anyone a name. In fact, I'm pretty sure I said that you do a great job of explaining who you are and how you operate by yourself. If anything, that is a compliment. ;)

Oh just give up trying to get him to admit/change anything. You and I both know the way $bang$ operates. Just be content with the knowledge that he is fos and anyone with half a brain will come to the same conclusion all by themselves. No one needs you to explain it to them, $bang$ does a great job of that himself.

You have a strange way of complimenting some one. Saying their FOS. and saying the owning someone is obnoxious. When its in fact no differant than saying I won that debate. Further more you talk like the desk top isn't there if you can't see it is funny . The desktop is still there its just not visiable because you have another open window covering it. When you go to performance mode in windows eye candy is removed which frees up system resources. . Everthing you can do to free up resources on the desktop adds to performance. Please don't pay me anymore compliments unless you want to do it face to face.

Saying cooling down the system and components doesn't add performance with an unclottered box and than saying it can help in O/C and or stability of the system is hypercritical at best as this was a debate about performance.
