I have an Nforce2 motherboard which has the Soundstorm onboard audio chip. I am wondering how I should go about getting the sound from my xbox to go into my computer and out the speakers I have connected to it. The audio cables coming out of the xbox are either optical or RCA plugs. Currently I have no connections for either of those on my computer. What are some options available to me? Am I going to have to buy a new sound card? My motherboard is the Asus A7n8x-deluxe. I believe I can purchase a little adapter to plug into my motherboard that will allow digital coaxal input. Problem is, there is no adapter that plugs into a coaxal port for an xbox. I only see optical being used and I don't see an optical adapter for my onboard sound.
I would greatly appreciate any help I can get. I ordered a VGA Transcoder but afterwards thought about the audio problem so I may need to cancel the order on the Transcoder if I can't come up with an audio solution.
