Connect to 3com Superstack 3000

I got a 12 port 3com Superstack II 3000 for free and wanted to connect to it to play around with the settings. I looked online and I can't find anything that explains exactly what I need to do. Is there a "default" IP address for the switch that I can telnet into or will I "have" to use a serial connection. If so what kind of cable do I need

you will need to connect via theserial console port. i think it uses a straight through serial cable. i found mine at radio shack.
