Confused about oc'ing intel platform

I'm trying to learn more about overclocking intel platforms, specifically core 2 duos. I'm really only used to oc'ing a64 939 platform using eclipse's guide which explains everything. Is there a guide that explains the relationship between the frequency of ram and cpu for intel systems cuz I'm confused. C2d's are mostly all 1066fbus, does this mean you only need 533 PC5400 ram to run stock speeds? etc?
