Confused about game support.

At the bottom of this list it says "To avoid confusion, PC titles that do not take advantage of AGEIA PhysX hardware acceleration are ommitted from this listing. "

Those games use PhysX software acceleration but almost none use hardware acceleration. Why are they still listed then? I have Tom Clancy Vegas and it does not say anything on the box about hardware support.

Why say you will remove titles that don't support the hardware, then list them anyways? It seems like it may be the games highlighted in white because of UT3.
 
Obviously a cut-and-paste job from the old Ageia site. I mean, they didn't even change the name to Nvidia PhysX!

That's one confused list. At least 3 of the non-hightlighted games definitely do support hardware PhysX, so I suspect others do too:

Cellfactor: Combat Training
Cellfactor: Revolution
Unreal Tournament 3: Extreme Physics Mod

I can't wait until next week. I have an 8400GS installed in the second video card slot and i'm dying to see if it is usable for hardware accelerated games.

My guess is it won't be great. Let me know, I literally was having a conversation with a guy today that asked the same thing.
 
I'm going to guess the 8400GS will play most hardware PhysX games OK, but it will take a 8500GT to match the original PPU. I have a spare 8600GT that I would prefer not to waste on GPU physics in only a couple of games. I'll be testing that too. ;)
 
Pretty sad that you could buy a low end 8 series GPU that cost 1/2 as much as a Aegia ppu, and do the same job.

Oh wait, actually that's cool :cool:

You have to also consider that when the original PPU came out the 8 series was not low-end and certainly didn't cost half the price of the PPU.
