Computer Won't Boot

When I attempt to boot my computer the monitor remains on standby. I have tested the computer with three different video cards and the same problem occurs each time. I've also tried two different monitors and recently replaced the motherboard. I am wondering whether this could be a problem with either my RAM or my processor. I have an intel 2.8 ghz /w HT and 2 sticks of 512mb corsair DDR 320.

Try it without the ram. It will still come to a screen that you can see if you have no ram. Pray thats what it is.

Make sure the jumpers are set correctly on the motherboard. Recently replaced the motherboard,,there's your answer. I doubt its a hardware failure.

I tried it without any RAM - still the same problem. Could it be the processor?

does this mobo support your procrssor, try reseating it, check jumpers, sometimes the clear cmos jumper comes in the clear position.

Was this working before or is it a new hardware build? Did anything happen just before you got this problem? Is there ANY sign of life? HDD spinning up? Lights on the motherboard?

Number 1 cause of this is the CPU not seated properly. Happens to me about 50% of the time when building a new box

Never used to happen till I started using AMD K7's for some strange reason ;-)
