Hi,
I got my FX5900 (not SE) in today, pulled out my GeForce 4 4200, popped in the new 5900 and turned the computer on. It hangs where it wants me to hit Del to enter the BIOS. I tried hitting delete but nothing happens. I'm using an A7N8X mobo. I can't locate my owners manual anywhere and I'm off to the Asus site after this post.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Maybe there's a jumper on the mobo that switches AGP 8X from 4X? I can't remember. Thanks in advance.

Does your computer BEEP when you boot? Sounds to me like the card is not set in correctly...make sure its all the way in don't be afraid to apply some force in getting it in the agp slot should be in firmly then try to boot again.

No beeps or anything. I did find the owners book (tore the bookshelf apart) and I was wrong about the jumper. What I'm gonna try now is to swap the card back, go into the BIOS, and make sure everything is set to default. I think I'll also update the bios since I haven't since I've owned it. Wish me luck!

Does the card take a molex connection? I once forgot my Radeon plug, and it beeped to remind me. Dont know if the FX cards do the same, or just dont let the PC boot up.

I got it going, thanks for the input. It ended up being two disconnected power cables. One was to my CD ROM, the other to one of my SATA drives. They must have come off while I was looking for a power cable for the video card. All is well now.
Thanks again.
