Ok, well i had a psu fry some stuff about a month ago, i finally got my motherboard and vid card back from RMA and bought a 520w Vantec Stealth PSU. I hooked everything back up put my processor in. The comp booted up i went to bios to reset up the boot device prioity and got the RAID detected. The Raid shows up says Raid 0 Functional and goes to the Windows Loading Screen it does this for like 5 sec then goes black as if it were going to the login screen then it just powers down. Any ideas?
And on my bios settings everything is stock didnt do any overclocking.

i disconnected my cd-rw and my dvd rom, my ide backup drive and booted with my raid and vid card, still crashed, i then booted into safemode and i was able to go around in that. DO you think i need to reformat? Also, when i reconnect my ide backup to try and backup stuff in Safe Mode, it doesnt boot into safe mode. So im sure it isnt a grounding problem. Any ideas? Should i just backup to CD-R and see if a reformat works?

Well no virus's and im kinda confused, i can get into windows safe mode and stay in it as long as possible, im beginning to think there is some hardware conflict but i wouldnt even know what. Also it kinda smells like burning plastic in my case not as bad as the first time, is this just the new PSU breaking in?

sorry if it kinda rambles on i pasted from another post on another forum. Any help guys?

if u don't have data that u need u might want to consider reinstalling windows or doing a system restore if its xp

yea there is data i need off this raid0 array i think im gonna need to see if the backup ide drive works in another pc on the network so i can use use safemode with networking and transfer my files over to it and reformat. but are there any other suggestions maybe? Could this be a grounding problem? If so can you explain why safemode will work but not normal mode? btw im running windows server 2003

Have you a spare IDE HDD.
If so I would disconnect your raid.
Put the spare drive in and install Windozes.
Reconnect your raid and see if you can access it.
If so you shoud then be able to backup your data.
Then format and reinstall Windozes on the raid drives.

Luck........ :D

i do have another extra ide but im thinking of just backing my raid up over a network because i can get into safe mode, do you think windows is just crappin out on me? Because i can get into safemode but nothing else.

Possibly RAM - start up an application or two in safe mode, and see if it crashes. Or, just circumvent it and run Memtest86+ to test your RAM.

When something similar was happening to me just a couple weeks ago, it turned out to be a stick of bad RAM. It seemed stable in safe mode, until I ran an application (spybot) whereupon it crashed. Crashing in safe mode GENERALLY means hardware problems, and in my case, it was RAM.
