I just finished building my new comp.. everything is running fine except thta my computer keeps on booting after approximately every 10 mins.. without warning... anyone know whats wrong? thanx

Do you mean rebooting?
If that is the case it could be any number of things. Your CPU or GPU is overheating, you have a bad install of Windows, or your RAM may be faulty. Some more details may give us a better idea of what really is the problem.

What kind of RAM do you have? Do you have different types? one of my first builds I put one type of ram with another type of RAM on Dual channel. Needless to say I kept getting the same problem. Another thing you might want to check is your CPU temp. When you see your post screen it migth tell you your CPU temp without having to download MBM5. If you can stay in windows long enough to download and install MBM5, get it, and check your temps. Other then that I don't know what to tell you.

Do you have dual channel? It may be what CoRPS said - different sticks. You may want to check this.

my mobo says it uses DUAL DDR i am not sure what kinda memory stick i have right now .. anyway to find that out?

what I would do is take one of them out. and use it for 30-45 minutes, if it doesn't reboot, then the dual channel is your problem. Just put the second stick in the third (3) RAM Slot, If you have 3. If you don't you're either going to have to either use just one of the sticks, or buy a clone of ONE of the sticks you have. Sorry if that's confusing, WAY past my bed time and I can't think straight. :p

now i took the ram and put it in the other slot.. and my comp is running verrrrrrry slow... but not rebooting anymore..

:S

so i guess i have to buy another memory but before that ia mgonna try to put it in the last slot.. maybe than it will work??

If you have 3 slots, just make sure there's a slot empty between the 2 and you will be fine.

Problem solved... SOlution : My Linksys Etherfast 10/100 network adapter Causing my comp to reboot ..
