Computer dies when trying to install XP

Trying to install XP on an SATA HDD. System specs are in my sig.

I have been screwing around with this for days. Today it got furtherst into the XP install than it has before. It almost got done, then comp shut off. SATA driver issues? I thought I did not need to install drivers for this board. help?
 
Download Memtest and run it. I have had this problem before and it was bad ram. Good Luck.
 
Definitely sounds like a hardware issue, so I'd start with the usual diags and go from there.
